AWS FinOps Updates

Speed Up Your Call Center Flows!

Heads up, Amazon Connect users! You can now run multiple AWS Lambda functions at the same time within your contact flows.

This is a great update because instead of waiting for one function to finish before starting the next, you can run them in parallel.

This can significantly speed up your call flows, which means shorter call times for customers and lower costs for you.

New Super-Powered GPU Instances for AI!

Get ready for a performance boost! AWS has announced the new P6e instances, featuring the latest NVIDIA GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchips.

These are designed for the most demanding AI and Machine Learning training jobs.

While they are top-tier instances, the promise is a huge leap in performance, which can lead to better cost-efficiency by training your models much faster.

More Control Over Your QuickSight Reports!

For those who use QuickSight for dashboards, AWS has added more granular controls for who can export reports and how.

You can now get very specific about customizing what data users can see and export from your dashboards.

This is a big help for data governance and security, ensuring that people only see the cost data and metrics that are relevant to them.

Track Even More Resources with AWS Config!

Good news for governance and compliance! AWS Config has added support for 12 new resource types.

This means you can now track configuration changes for even more of your services, like Amazon Bedrock agents, AppSync, and more.

Keeping a close eye on resource changes is key for security, but it’s also great for FinOps to understand how and when your infrastructure is changing.

Microsoft Azure

Azure Budgets Get More Flexible!

This is a handy update for managing your Azure spend! Azure Budgets can now be evaluated at a subscription scope within a management group.

This gives you more power and flexibility in how you set up your budget alerts.

For example, you can now have a single budget at the management group level that triggers alerts based on the spending of individual subscriptions within it. This is great for more granular cost control in large organizations.

That’s all, see you next week
