AWS Makes FinOps Reporting Easier With Managed Billing Dashboards
AWS has added preconfigured billing dashboards that give teams a ready-made view of cost trends, compute and database spending, commitment coverage, Savings Plans, reservations, utilization, and forecasted costs.
The dashboards are read-only and available at no additional charge across commercial AWS Regions. That gives FinOps teams a standardized starting point for reviewing spending without building every view from scratch.
They can also help teams bring key cost and commitment metrics into one place, making it easier to spot changes in usage, assess coverage, and review forecasted costs.
AWS CUDOS Adds Bedrock Token and Prompt-Cache Efficiency Metrics
The AWS CUDOS dashboard now provides more detail on Bedrock usage, including token usage by type, prompt-cache read and write ratios, and a corrected cost-per-million-token calculation.
These additions help teams understand how Bedrock consumption is distributed and how effectively prompt caching is being used. The corrected calculation also improves the accuracy of cost analysis.
As a result, FinOps teams can use the dashboard to monitor AI consumption, review caching efficiency, and identify clearer cost patterns across Bedrock workloads.
Lower Global Pricing Is Available for OpenAI Models on Amazon Bedrock
Amazon Bedrock now supports Global and Geo cross-Region inference for OpenAI GPT-5.6 models.
Global inference provides access to broader capacity and is priced lower per token than in-Region and Geo inference. CloudWatch, Cost Explorer, and CUR integrations support usage and cost attribution.
That combination gives teams another way to manage model costs while retaining visibility into consumption. FinOps practitioners can compare inference options and use AWS billing and monitoring tools to track the resulting spend.
AWS Marketplace Can Alert Buyers About Pricing and Subscription Changes
AWS Marketplace buyers can now subscribe to category-based notifications covering product changes, subscription events, and pricing changes.
Notifications can be routed through email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, or other supported channels. Procurement and FinOps teams can therefore receive relevant updates through the tools they already use.
The direct benefit is earlier visibility into vendor price increases and renewal events. That can support more timely reviews of Marketplace commitments and subscription costs.
Track AWS Deadline Cloud EBS Persistent-Volume Costs by Fleet and Farm
AWS Deadline Cloud now reports EBS persistent-volume costs in Usage Explorer and its statistics APIs.
Costs can be attributed by fleet, farm, and time period. This provides more detail for reviewing storage spend associated with rendering or other Deadline Cloud workloads.
With that visibility, teams can identify idle volumes and adjust time-to-live settings. The result can be less unnecessary storage spending.
EC2 Auto Scaling Can Terminate Up to 100 Instances in One API Call
EC2 Auto Scaling can now terminate up to 100 instances in a single API call.
The capability supports rapid scale-downs for temporary artificial intelligence and machine learning, container, and event-driven fleets. It’s available without additional service charges.
For workloads that create large temporary fleets, faster termination can help reduce idle compute costs after demand falls.
Tune Amazon EKS Control Plane Behavior to Improve Cluster Density
Amazon EKS now lets administrators configure additional control plane parameters, including scheduler placement strategies and autoscaling responsiveness.
Using the MostAllocated scheduling strategy can pack workloads onto fewer nodes. That may improve cluster density and reduce compute spend.
Teams can use these configuration options to better align cluster behavior with their workload needs, while the potential reduction in node usage provides a direct cost-management benefit.
AWS Spot Placement Score Now Considers Local Zones
Spot placement score can now include AWS Local Zone capacity when evaluating locations for Spot requests.
This gives customers a broader view of possible placement options. For distributed workloads, that may improve the ability to obtain discounted Spot capacity.
The expanded location view can therefore help teams assess more alternatives when looking for lower-cost compute capacity.
AWS Clean Rooms Exports Analysis Logs for SQL Optimization
The logs include Spark execution details that can help teams identify data skew, troubleshoot slow queries, and optimize processing costs.
This gives users more information for investigating inefficient SQL workloads. In turn, teams can use those details to focus optimization work where query performance or processing cost is highest.
