AWS

Keep a Closer Eye on Your EBS Performance!

Heads up! The Amazon CloudWatch agent can now collect performance stats for your EBS volumes on Linux.

This is a really helpful update for seeing if your EBS volumes are bottle-necking your system’s performance.

Now you can get detailed metrics without needing custom scripts, helping you make sure you’re using the right (and most cost-effective) EBS volume types for your EC2 instances.

Get Your Invoice Summaries Through an API!

Great news for finance teams! The AWS Invoice Summary API is now available for everyone.

This means you can now pull a summary of your AWS invoices programmatically, which is perfect for integrating with your own financial dashboards or accounting systems.

It gives you a consistent way to access your billing data without having to manually go into the console every time. Super handy for automation!

Huge Price Drop for AWS GPU Instances!

This is a big one! AWS just announced a price reduction of up to 45% for some of its EC2 instances with NVIDIA GPUs.

If you’re running Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), or other heavy-duty computing tasks, this is fantastic news.

It’s a direct price cut that makes these super powerful (but often expensive!) instances much more affordable.

Microsoft Azure

Catch Up on the Latest from Microsoft Cost Management!

Lots of updates from the Azure team this month! Microsoft Cost Management has a bunch of new features from May.

Some of the highlights include new ways to group your costs in reports, better support for Azure savings plans, and even some cool experiments in the Labs section.

It’s a good idea to check out their update to see if there are any new tools that can help you get a better handle on your Azure spend.

New Goodies in the Azure FinOps Toolkit!

For all the FinOps pros out there, the open-source FinOps Toolkit for Azure has been updated to version 0.11.

This toolkit helps you set up a strong FinOps practice using Azure tools. The new version often includes better Power BI dashboards and improved ways to get your cost data.

If you’re serious about managing your Azure costs effectively, this is a great resource to keep an eye on!
