Azure is ending reservation exchanges for some savings-plan-covered services

Microsoft announced that reservation exchanges will end for services covered by Azure savings plans starting February 1, 2027.

Active reservations will get one final exchange, and after that the exchange option won’t be available for those services. Microsoft says this shifts customers toward savings plans for cross-service flexibility.

Microsoft Azure launched single-click purchase for public SaaS offers in Microsoft Marketplace, creating a simpler single-page purchase flow in the Azure portal.

The update is for eligible SaaS products and brings plan, billing, and resource group details into one place. That reduces procurement friction and makes the buying flow easier to follow.

Azure AI workloads on Databricks now have better cost governance

Microsoft Azure made Unity AI Gateway generally available on Azure Databricks, giving teams centralized governance for AI models, agents, and MCP services.

The gateway includes controls for monitoring usage and managing costs. That gives organizations a more direct way to keep an eye on AI spend on Databricks.

Azure Resource Manager MCP now includes FinOps toolsets for AI agents

Microsoft Azure introduced Cost Management and Pricing toolsets in Azure Resource Manager MCP, adding cost-aware actions for AI agents working with ARM.

The new toolsets let agents query costs, forecast spend, create budgets, review reservations and savings plans, and access pricing. That brings FinOps context directly into infrastructure workflows.
