Cut observability noise and storage costs with better filtering

Azure Network Watcher VNet flow logs filtering becomes generally available. Azure Network Watcher now lets customers filter VNet flow logs by criteria like IP, port, protocol, encryption state, and direction. That means you can narrow down what gets logged instead of collecting everything.

Make VM recovery more flexible on premium and ultra disks

Azure Backup adds item-level recovery for VMs with Premium SSD v2 and Ultra disks. Azure Backup now supports item-level recovery for Azure VMs using Premium SSD v2 and Ultra disks. That gives teams more granular restore options for these storage types.

This can reduce recovery overhead, especially for larger workloads where a full restore isn’t always necessary.

Improve AI cost visibility for Claude usage in Foundry

Cost management and tagging for Claude models in Microsoft Foundry. Microsoft Foundry now brings Claude model usage into Azure Cost Management alongside other Foundry spend, with proper tagging and attribution. That gives teams clearer chargeback and showback detail for AI usage.

If you’re tracking AI consumption closely, this makes it much easier to assign costs accurately. It also helps FinOps teams keep model spend visible in the same place as the rest of their Azure costs.

Scale storage segmentation a lot further

Azure Blob Storage accounts per region per subscription quota increases to 1,000. Azure has raised the per-region storage account quota to 1,000 standard-endpoint accounts per subscription. It’s not a pricing change, but it does increase the scale available for storage account layout and governance.

That can be useful when you want more segmentation across teams, workloads, or environments.
