Network troubleshooting gets more visibility in Google Cloud

Cloud Network Insights is now generally available, giving teams monitoring, visualization, and diagnostics for multicloud and hybrid networks.

The release includes support for Compute Engine VM Monitoring Points and Connectivity Tests. That combination makes it easier to see where network issues may be affecting traffic and performance.

BigQuery now bills autoscaling more exactly

BigQuery fluid scaling reached general availability, bringing per-second billing for autoscaling reservations with no minimum duration.

That lets slot autoscaling and billing line up more closely with actual bursty analytics usage. It’s a good fit for workloads where demand rises and falls quickly, because it reduces the chance of paying for capacity you didn’t really need.

GenAI costs inside BigQuery are easier to cap

BigQuery now offers daily token quotas for generative AI functions, and the feature is generally available.

Administrators can set daily token caps to limit generative AI usage and prevent runaway model spend inside BigQuery functions. That gives teams a direct control for managing AI-related cost exposure.

BigQuery now supports a standardized cost export

Google Cloud Billing added a FOCUS export to BigQuery in Preview, producing consistent cost and usage data based on FOCUS v1.2.

That makes the export more interoperable with FinOps tools and cross-cloud reporting workflows. If your team works across providers, having a standardized structure can make downstream analysis a lot easier.

More people can now see aggregated billing views

Google Cloud introduced multi-project access to Cloud Billing cost views in Preview, opening up visibility beyond billing admins.

Project owners and other authorized non-billing users can see aggregated cost data for their projects in a single Cloud Billing console view. Access is controlled through both Cloud Billing and project permissions.
