AlloyDB-to-BigQuery Access Gets Better Cost and Query Controls

AlloyDB real-time access to BigQuery now avoids some unnecessary data movement. The integration supports limit pushdown and runtime projects.

Limit pushdown can reduce unnecessary data transfer, while runtime projects let teams assign query compute costs independently from the project storing the data.

Together, these controls improve workload efficiency and make cost allocation more flexible.

Cloud Run Jobs Can Be Delayed for Reduced Pricing

Flexible batch workloads can now trade immediacy for lower pricing. Cloud Run jobs can be delayed for up to 12 hours, allowing non-urgent workloads to use reduced pricing.

This gives teams a cost-optimization option for batch processing and other workloads that don’t need to start immediately.

Cloud SQL Adds C4 Machine Types Across Six Regions

Cloud SQL now offers C4 machine types for several database engines. Cloud SQL for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server Enterprise Plus supports C4 machine types across six regions.

The new generation offers improved price-performance for demanding workloads. Cloud SQL also supports in-place changes to machine type, storage, edition, and database version.
